Muka Exhibition

Te Roopu Whare Tapa Wha went to a muka exhibition at the Historic Village today. Did you know Muka are the fibres extracted from the harakeke plant. I saw beautiful korowai, earrings and other art made from muka. It was amazing. 

Mount Hot Pools

I spent the day at the Mount hot pools. Yea I did! After all the weights I’ve been lifting at Blaze lately it was a perfect way to let my muscles relax and recover. We walked along the board walk and found a nice patch of grass to eat our lunch on. I’m definitely ready for a nap now, what a day!

 

Exploring our community

 I had a fantastic walk with our Movement group. We explored a new walk through Memorial park, it was a bit steep but I did it and I was so proud of myself. 

Discovering outing.

I was suppose to go fishing today but the weather had other plans. Instead we walked across the Matapihi bridge and then went to the Tauranga city library and the art gallery. It was a shame we couldn’t go fishing but I still enjoyed our outing. I’m very lucky. 

 

One and a half acre woods farm

I spent the morning at One and a half acre wood farm with my friends. I fed the eels, did you know they eat dog food? We threw it into the stream and watched the eels swim up and eat. I also fed the chooks. I was lucky enough to have cuddles with the cute guinea pigs. It was so much fun!

 

STRIKE!

We hit the bowling alley today and boy what a fun time we had! I played so well I even got a strike! How awesome am I?! I’m looking forward to going again and kicking butt! Ha ha 

 

Wilrose Volunteer Group

My volunteer group and I went down to the Welcome Bay community centre where we offered to fold clothes and picked up rubbish. We did such a great job we were allowed to spend the time we had left playing on the play ground. Jacob and I climbed like monkeys! Ha ha!
