Mauao base walk & hot soak

Oh boy what a big day! I spent the whole day in Mt Maunganui. I walked around the base of the mount, it was hard work but with the encouragement of my friends and a couple of “catch ya breath” stops we did it! After all that cardio it was only fair we enjoyed a muscle relaxing and body recovery hot soak ha ha.

What a fantastic day!

 

Bird watching

The crew and I headed out to Matua Salt Marsh to do some bird watching. Among the many ducks swimming around in the pond I spotted a grey heron! 

The sun was shining the birds were chirping, it was a great outing. 

 

Healthy connections

 This week in healthy connections we worked together as a team to get the dishes done and the tables wiped down. I was the dish washer stacker. Then our team sat down and talked about a few different lifeskills  and checked out our cool new emotions book. 

iSing

I had my first iSing session yesterday and it was amazing. Im already a great singer but I am looking forward to working on my pitch and range. With enough practice I’ll be belting out the likes of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. Haha.

 

Sailability

We spent the day at Sailability. It’s usually what I look forward too the most but I wasn’t really feeling it today. I tried my best to go out on the water but ended coming back in early. That’s ok though, I’ll try again next time. 

Citz Club Lunch

 We had our volunteer lunch at the Citz club with our connect 20 friends. It’s an occasion I always look forward to. I ordered mini hotdogs with fries and a large ginger beer. It was so yum!

Matariki VR trail

In celebration of Matariki, the guys and I went to the Matariki VR trails, one in Mt Maunganui and the other on the Strand. It's the first of its kind here in Tauranga. We had to use the staff phones to actually see the sculptures, it was crazy cool. There were lots to see, many of which being quite unique. We also enjoyed a picnic lunch at the beach. What a fantastic day.
